BBC Scotland Lab Too
School pupils in Edinburgh have been given a unique opportunity to produce their own documentary films.
The initiative, a partnership between Screen Education Edinburgh and BBC Scotland seen pupils from Castlebrae Community High School, Craigroyston Primary School and Craigroyston Community High School learn to produce a five minute film.
Graham Fitzpatrick, Screen Education Edinburgh’s Creative Manager said: “This was a fantastic opportunity for pupils in deprived communities of Edinburgh to learn how to produce their own documentaries. The topics chosen were very current, Global Citizenship, Literacy and Olympic Values, with great final results. Our aim was to unearth untapped creativity in the young people, and give them the knowledge and skills to pursue a life long interest in film making.”
