Soothe Wins at EIFF New Visions Short Film Competition

We were very happy to see the short film ‘Soothe’ win best film by filmmakers aged 15 – 18 at New Visions Short Film Competition, made as part of our BFI Film Academy Craft Skills course it was a great achievement for our young filmmakers who collaborated virtually to write, shoot and edit their film over several weeks in February/March 2021.

Screened online as part of EIFF on the 20th August, co-directors Poppy and Rowan took part in the filmmakers Q&A giving some insight into their experience. Catch up on the full event now.

BFI Film Academy Craft Skills

On our BFI Film Academy Craft Skills Residential course, learners receive intensive learning in screenwriting, cinematography, sound, directing, production and editing, engage in industry masterclasses, and produce a short film. Applications for the summer 2023 course are now closed.
