Applications now open for PhD exploring our impact over 40 years

Through a partnership between Edinburgh Napier University, Queen Margaret University and Screen Education Edinburgh a fully funded, practised based PhD opportunity exploring our impact as an organisation is now open for applications.

Now celebrating our 40th anniversary, this PhD studentship will investigate our impact as Pilton Video and SEE, develop new ways to tell our story, and make it relevant to audiences today and in the future.

The research will involve interviewing key contributors, filming new material, and drawing on the archive of productions made by staff, learners and filmmakers at the organisation from 1981 to date.

BFI Film Academy Craft Skills

On our BFI Film Academy Craft Skills Residential course, learners receive intensive learning in screenwriting, cinematography, sound, directing, production and editing, engage in industry masterclasses, and produce a short film. Applications for the summer 2024 course are now open!
