BFI Film Academy 2020-21 open for applications

We are delighted to announce that we are now accepting applications to our BFI Film Academy programme for 2020-21!

BFI Film Academy offers opportunities for ambitious 16 to 19-year olds aiming to know more about film and how to make a career in the screen industries. This hands-on filmmaking course builds knowledge and skills and shows the pathways into the industry for talented and committed young people, with an excellent track record of inspiring the next generation of filmmakers and crew.

Taking place in Edinburgh every Saturday, and one evening per week via online learning, from Sat 19^th September to Sat 19^th December 2020, the course is open to young people in Edinburgh and South East Scotland with a passion for film, no matter their background or previous experience.

BFI Film Academy Craft Skills

On our BFI Film Academy Craft Skills Residential course, learners receive intensive learning in screenwriting, cinematography, sound, directing, production and editing, engage in industry masterclasses, and produce a short film. Applications for the summer 2024 course are now open!
