This month, we want to wish all our BFI filmmakers BFI Film Academy Edinburgh Network Course for 2022/23 as huge congratulations for showcasing their fantastic films during their graduation ceremony that took place at Leith Theatre.

During the BFI Film Academy Network course, these ambitious 16- to 19-year-olds from Edinburgh, Clackmannanshire, East Lothian, Falkirk, Fife, Midlothian, Scottish Borders, Stirling and West Lothian areas came together on this hands-on filmmaking course. Developing their understanding of screenwriting, cinematography, sound, directing, production, editing, and so on, these young learners worked to gain the BFI/Screen Skills NCFE ‘Preparing to Work in the Film Industry’ qualification.

Joined by their family and friends and special guest MP Deidre Brock MP and Fi Milligan Rennie and Gail Robertson from Screen Scotland, we celebrated the learners hard work at a screening and graduation event in Leith Theatre, who kindly rolled out the red carpet for these new filmmakers!
