ECFEP primary and special school films celebrated online

Films made as part of both the Your Take and Our Edinburgh programmes, strands of the Edinburgh City Film Education Programme, were screened on our YouTube channel on Friday 4th December at 2pm.

The first of two online showcases celebrated the work of Primary and Special School learners on both programmes.

Sean Young and Sharon Sorensen, who delivered drama and animation Film Tutoring on the programmes, presented alongside Programme Manager Laura Findlay.

They were delighted to watch back through a reel of behind the scenes footage, excerpts from all the films made, feedback from learners, teachers, and our project partners Into Film, Centre for the Moving Image and Arts & Creative Learning, City of Edinburgh Council.

During the live event, it was announced that all Our Edinburgh schools would receive a certificate to commemorate the hard work that the young people and teachers put in to making their films. A list of Your Take special mentions winners were also revealed, with each winner to receive a bag of film related goodies.

BFI Film Academy Craft Skills

On our BFI Film Academy Craft Skills Residential course, learners receive intensive learning in screenwriting, cinematography, sound, directing, production and editing, engage in industry masterclasses, and produce a short film. Applications for the summer 2023 course are now closed.
