We are thrilled to announce the launch of a new GTCS accredited professional development course for teachers, Using Filmmaking to Develop Your Teaching Practice. The course forms part of our Set the Scene: Development of Teachers and Pupils in Filmmaking Programme, which is a free programme, funded by Screen Scotland, designed to develop and strengthen the filmmaking knowledge, skills, and practice of teachers and pupils in schools across Edinburgh and the Lothians.

The accredited course is completely free to any fully qualified teachers working with P5-S6 pupils in schools across Edinburgh and the Lothians. Teachers will take part in a mix of online, practical, and in-class sessions to complete a short film with their class. Along the way they will work collaboratively with their pupils, sharing in learning and practice with colleagues, reflecting on early impacts and evaluating their progress, all culminating in a professional portfolio that they will submit for the Professional Recognition Award of Filmmaking in Education.

Applications for our Secondary teachers course are now closed.

Applications for Primary teachers course beginning 16th January 20223 are now open and close on 19th December 2022.
