Screen productions

Through our film production arm ‘Screen Productions’ we have produced films focused on those on the margins of society. Featuring non professional actors portraying roles close to their every day lives at their core, three award winning shorts have been realised to date.

One film centred on life behind bars in Scotland’s youth prison featuring authentic inmates on screen, another was an emotional portrayal of a single father family, featuring young people drawn from Edinburgh’s care homes and housing schemes, whilst the other was a picturesque insight into the life a youth from the world of travelling show people.

Off screen some of the most exciting emerging talent in Scotland have worked on each film, from screenwriting, directing and producing, right through to sound, editing and film composition. A key focus of each production to progress such talent, each film also saw young people in assistant roles, offering talented participants from our educational programmes vital skills and career development as their first steps into the workplace.
