Sarah Drummond Acting Chair Expand Sarah is Managing Director and Executive Producer at LS Productions, leading its UK wide production service offering across commercials, TV episodes, film, music videos and fashion. She is driven to create opportunities for new entrants into the industry, and support those already working industry-wide. Starting at our org as a YTS trainee in the early 90's, her career has seen her film work premiere at the Berlinale and EIFF, and a BAFTA New Talent Award for her role producing our film Mum’s Birthday. David Johnson Treasurer Expand David was appointed Treasurer in August 2020. Currently the Financial Director for Scottish Gymnastics, he previously worked for Scottish Rugby, Silberline, and Christian Salvesen, bringing considerable experience of dealing with various financial situations to benefit SEE. Emma Snodgrass Trustee Expand Emma leads learning and development for BBC newsroom staff across Scotland, supporting them to work in an increasingly digital world. An experienced journalist in TV, radio and newspapers, she previously worked as an investigative journalist, producing and directing current affairs documentaries for BBC Scotland. Emma has been actively involved in initiatives to increase female representation in editorial leadership globally and is passionate about advocating for improved diversity of the TV workforce, so it better represents all the audiences it seeks to reflect.
Elliot Linger Trustee Expand Elliott is Global Head of Portfolio and Audience Development at the LEGO Group. Formerly Senior Vice President at Universal Pictures with responsibility for marketing strategy, consumer research and data analytics for global film releases, overseeing marketing for billion-dollar movie franchises such as The Fast & The Furious, Despicable Me™ / Minions and Jurassic World, James Bond 007™, Mamma Mia!™ and Fifty Shades of Grey™. Elliott has worked in the entertainment sphere his entire career, spending six years at PlayStation prior to Universal Pictures where he managed the development of the The Last of Us™ and LittleBigPlanet™ franchises.
Marie Williamson Trustee Expand Marie is an experienced aerial dance performer and facilitator and holds an MA in Screen Dance. Her practice rooted in accessibility, she’s committed to creating opportunities for young people, disabled participants, and those in socio-economic disadvantaged areas, delivering in communities and schools, on programmes such as ‘Like Flying’ with National Theatre of Scotland and Createability with All or nothing Aerial Dance Theatre. Marie is also a founder of grassroots collaborative Fanny Riot, and co-creator of the FLAPS project - sexual and emotional welfare support services for nightlife and music festivals. Growing up in North Edinburgh, Marie’s first arts opportunities were in the community, including being one of the youth participants that co-created Pilton Video’s ‘Old Enough to Know Better’ documentary focused on school pupils going on strike against the Iraq War.
Jared Taylor Trustee Expand Jared is Programme Director of the award winning Animation Department at Edinburgh College of Art, part of the University of Edinburgh. Jared has trained animators in Edinburgh and London for the last 17 years. His teaching career began on the shoulders of a 10 year involvement in video games. He has worked as a designer and producer, coordinating projects developed by independent games studios based in the UK for large international clients including LEGO, Nokia. Nintendo (NCL), Square-Enix, Konami, Sony (SCEE) and Philips Media. He has also directed the world’s largest multi camera rotoscope shoot at the Roundhouse in London.
Neil Rolland Trustee Expand Neil is a Development Producer at Baillie Gifford, where he helps shape creative strategy and systems across the firm’s in-house Film & Photography team. His work focuses on storytelling, structure, and innovation. Before joining Baillie Gifford, Neil spent over a decade in Scotland’s independent film community as a writer, director, and producer. He founded Write Shoot Cut, co-created the Tartan Features movement, and ran the Bootleg Film Festival, supporting emerging filmmakers in Edinburgh and beyond. Neil previously worked at Screen Education Edinburgh for five years, a key part of implementing the learning framework still used today and mentoring young people from diverse backgrounds. A passionate advocate for creative access and education, he continues to champion opportunities for new voices in film.
Matt Springford Trustee Expand Matt Springford is an Executive Producer and Creative Director with over twenty years’ experience in factual television, including senior roles at BBC Studios, OR Media and Crosswalk Films. He has led major international co-productions across the Middle East and China, and overseen flagship documentary output for BBC Scotland. A strategic and values-driven leader, Matt is passionate about storytelling that promotes inclusion and cross-cultural understanding. He brings extensive expertise in creative strategy, talent development and meaningful international partnerships.
Graham Fitzpatrick Principal Officer Expand Graham's responsible for the management of SEE including staff, funding, org development, programme development, the org's productions, and stakeholder engagement. First joining our previous incarnation Pilton Video as a YTS trainee in the early 90's, he has accrued considerable experience in filmmaking, talent development, and film education, and delivered a wide slate of short film, documentaries, TV programmes and client productions. As a filmmaker Graham’s work has screened worldwide, winning film festival, and BAFTA Scotland awards, and he holds a PG Cert with distinction in Screenwriting from Screen Academy Scotland. Jo Johnstone Administrator Expand As SEE's Administrator, Jo's responsible for supporting the SEE team, learners, partners, and members of the public, overseeing administration of the org. Jo previously participated in several of our programmes as a young learner, including BFI Film Academy and Moving Image Arts, following which she completed a HND in Television at Edinburgh College, with previous experience in Administration at Clockwise Edinburgh Leith amongst others before joining SEE. Sean Young Skills & Qualifications Officer Expand Our Skills & Qualifications Officer, Sean's responsible for curriculum design, and managing delivery of key programmes including BFI Film Academy, Through the Lens, Young Filmmakers Hub and bespoke partnership projects. He delivers and assesses Arts Award, SQA, and BFI/Screen Skills Preparing to Work in the Film Industry qualifications, also acting as an External Quality Assurer for SQA, and previously as Internal Moderator for the BFI for 5 years, supporting film learning orgs across the UK. Nichola Waygood Finance Manager Expand Our Finance Manager, Nichola's responsible for overseeing all financial processes and controls of SEE, finance reporting, and payroll. Nichola also works at Edinburgh Art Festival and Ingleby Gallery, with previous experience at several organisations including the Fruitmarket Gallery, Stills Gallery, PACE, Scottish Poetry Library, Vision Mechanics and Out of the Blue Arts and Education Trust. Jonathan Payne Lead Film Tutor Expand Our Lead Film Tutor, Jonathan leads on our Young Filmmakers Hub and GTCS teacher programmes, develops young people on our Foundation Apprenticeship programme, and young learners and adults on Through the Lens. First developed on SEE's Moving Image Arts programme as a young learner, he progressed to Edinburgh College of Art and graduated with a First Class Honours in BA(Hons) Film & Television and received two Royal Television Society awards. Rachel McKinlay Film Tutor Expand Our Film Tutor Rachel develops learners on our Foundation Apprenticeship and Young Filmmakers Hub programmes, and young people and adult learners on our Through the Lens programme. Rachel graduated from Queen Margaret University in 2019 with a BA in Theatre & Film and more recently participated as a learner on SEE's Screen Progression Programme, before taking on the role of Assistant Film Tutor at the org, over one year gaining the skills and knowledge of developing people on our programmes, before progressing into a Tutor role. Juulia Kalavainen Film Tutor Expand One of our Film Tutor's, Juulia develops young people and adult learners on our Through the Lens programme, and young people on our BFI Film Academy and Foundation Apprenticeship programmes. Originally from Finland, she graduated with an BA in Cinematography and Editing from the Metropolia University of Applied Sciences, Helsinki.
