Sean Young

Our Skills & Qualifications Officer, Sean's responsible for curriculum design, and delivery of key programmes including BFI Film Academy, Screen Progression Programme, and bespoke partnership projects. He delivers and assesses Arts Award, SQA, and BFI/Screen Skills Preparing to Work in the Film Industry qualifications, also acting as an internal moderator for the BFI supporting film learning orgs across the UK. First developing as a young learner at programmes at our organisation, Sean holds a BA (Hons) Photography, Film and Television from Edinburgh Napier University.

BFI Film Academy Craft Skills

On our BFI Film Academy Craft Skills Residential course, learners receive intensive learning in screenwriting, cinematography, sound, directing, production and editing, engage in industry masterclasses, and produce a short film. Applications for the summer 2023 course are now closed.
