First Edinburgh Shorts Showcase

Screen Education Edinburgh and the 48 Hour Film Project recently teamed up to bring you the first-ever Edinburgh Shorts Showcase at the Cameo, and what a night it was! The night was a roaring success, and we want to thank everyone who came along and made it such an incredible event.

From female revenge to floating whales, the showcased films were nothing short of spectacular! We were blown away by the talent and creativity of the filmmakers who participated, and we want to give them a huge shoutout for showcasing their incredible work.

Our aim with the Edinburgh Shorts Showcase is to celebrate and promote local filmmaking talent. We're so grateful for the support of everyone who attended and helped us achieve this goal. We're already looking forward to planning the next one!

BFI Film Academy Craft Skills

On our BFI Film Academy Craft Skills Residential course, learners receive intensive learning in screenwriting, cinematography, sound, directing, production and editing, engage in industry masterclasses, and produce a short film. Applications for the summer 2023 course are now closed.

The Screen Progression Programme is a national initiative managed by Screen Education Edinburgh and funded by Screen Scotland that provides access to high quality vocational development in Film and TV skills. For those aged 16 and over with no upper age limit.
