Your Take: Summer Courses

Your Take is running as a short online filmmaking course this summer. Open to all Primary and Secondary young people in Edinburgh and the Lothians, Your Take runs for two weeks. Whether it's a live action or animated short our summer courses provide all the learning and support needed to develop a story, plan and shoot a film, and edit - ready to be shown at a celebratory virtual screening.

This November we’re running a series of free online workshops designed for young people to take their filmmaking to the next level.
Our mission

Scotland's oldest filmmaking organisation, Screen Education Edinburgh (SEE) is dedicated to making film accessible to all. We develop skills, knowledge and passion in filmmaking for young people, schools, adult learners, communities and independent filmmakers, through our education, production and training programmes.
BFI Film Academy Craft Skills

Applications are now open for our BFI Film Academy Craft Skills course for young people aged 16 to 19 across the UK. From 13th Feb to 20th March 2021, you will receive advanced and intensive craft learning in screenwriting, cinematography, sound, directing or editing, engage in industry masterclasses, and produce a short film.

Our story

SEE was originally known as Pilton Video, which was founded in 1981 to work exclusively in North Edinburgh to develop people, support the work of local organisations, and be at the heart of community development through film education and production.
