BFI Film Academy Edinburgh & South East Scotland

BFI Film Academy offers opportunities for ambitious 16 to 19 year olds aiming to know more about film and how to make a career in the screen industries. This hands-on filmmaking course builds knowledge and skills, and shows the pathways into the industry for talented and committed young people.
BFI Film Academy Craft Skills

On our BFI Film Academy Craft Skills course for young people aged 16 to 19 across the UK, learners receive advanced and intensive craft learning in screenwriting, cinematography, sound, directing, production and editing, engage in industry masterclasses, and produce a short film.
Moving Image Arts

Aged 16-25 and got a thirst for telling your own story through film? Moving Image Arts AS level qualification gives you a unique opportunity to develop your voice as a filmmaker. You’ll examine the history, techniques and creative impact of film, and use this to inform the development and production of your own work.

Set the Scene is a free programme that offers professional development in film literacy, filmmaking, and exhibition to teachers and educators via a collaborative approach between Screen Education Edinburgh, City of Edinburgh Council Creative Learning Team, Into Film, and Centre for the Moving Image.
