Moving Image Arts

Aged 16-25 and got a thirst for telling your own story through film? Moving Image Arts AS level qualification gives you a unique opportunity to develop your voice as a filmmaker. You’ll examine the history, techniques and creative impact of film, and use this to inform the development and production of your own work. Applications are now open for our 2020-21 course.

Your Take: Summer Courses

Your Take is running as a short online filmmaking course this summer. Open to all Primary and Secondary young people in Edinburgh and the Lothians, Your Take runs for two weeks. Whether it's a live action or animated short our summer courses provide all the learning and support needed to develop a story, plan and shoot a film, and edit - ready to be shown at a celebratory virtual screening.

Our story

SEE was originally known as Pilton Video, which was founded in 1981 to work exclusively in North Edinburgh to develop people, support the work of local organisations, and be at the heart of community development through film education and production.
Learning Projects

We specialise in working with organisations to train, support and develop their service users or staff to create their own content.
Cashback for Creativity

From 2012-20, Screen Education Edinburgh ran CashBack, a high quality learning experience that offered a pathway of progression in film for young people aged 10-24, living in areas of deprivation who have little or no access to creative opportunities.
